Excisional biopsy associated with cryotherapy and superficial keratectomy in malignant epithelial lesions of the conjunctiva

SUMMARY

The results of a prospective study of 20 patients, with malignant epithelial tumors of the conjunctiva, treated by excisional biopsy combined with cryotherapy and superficial keratectomy, showed a reccurrence of the tumor in 2 patients (10%). The combination of these techniques decreased significantly the reccurrence rate of the malignant conjunctival tumors.
