Localized corneal amyloidosis. Study of 2 cases

SUMMARY

The authors reports two clinically different cases, with hystopatologic diagnosis of localized corneal amyloidosis; no familial pattern and ocular or systemic patologies were identified.

According to the literature, the authors make the diagnosis of secondary localized corneal amyloidosis, in which the probable causal patology was not identified, and the possibility of primary localized corneal amyloidosis, an extremely rare disorder, is not excluded.
