Contribuição ao conhecimento da biologia de peixes do Amazonas. I - Alimentação de Geophagus

Summary

This work is based on the study of gastro-intestinal contents of 78 specimens of Geophagus that were captured in Lago Castanho, Amazonas. The principal components found were the following : 1) vegetal detritus, 2) seeds, 3) larvae of díptera, 4) crustacea. 5) algae. The results of qualitative and quantitative analyses are presented in tables and graphs.
