RESUMO Obra-prima de Amós Oz, A caixa-preta é um romance epistolar que conta a história de Alex, Ilana e Michel, um triângulo amoroso repleto de ressentimentos. O objetivo do presente artigo é entender como Oz explica, através da história, a conturbada sociedade israelense dos anos 1960. Trazendo alegorias para temas como religião, fanatismo, memória e questões étnicas, deciframos como Oz enxerga uma nação à beira do colapso social.

ABSTRACT Amos Oz’s masterpiece, The Black Box is an epistolary novel that tells the story of Alex, Ilana and Michel, in a love triangle filled with resentments. The purpose of this article is to understand how Oz explains the troubled Israeli society of the 1960s, with his book. Bringing allegories to themes such as religion, fanaticism, memory and ethnic issues, we decipher how Oz interprets the ruptures of a nation on the brink of social collapse.

O pós-guerra traz mudanças importantes nas práticas discursivas de dois nacionalismos concorrentes e concomitantes: o movimento sionista e o movimento nacional palestino. Se desde o início do século XX os dois grupos disputavam o mesmo território sob lógicas de pertencimento difusas e complexas, referências às suas tragédias coletivas passam a ser centrais em seus respectivos discursos nacionais a partir dos anos 1940. Aqui, tanto a Shoá quanto a Nakba passam a constituir tentativas constantes de reafirmar justeza e legitimidade de suas demandas políticas. Neste artigo discutimos a centralidade dos usos políticos da Nakba e da Shoá por palestinos e sionistas em cenários de confronto ideológico, nacional e territorial.

The post-war period brought important changes in the discursive practices of the two competing and overlapping nationalisms - the Zionist movement and the Palestine national movement. If since the beginning of the twentieth century, the two groups fought for the same territory based on complex and diffuse logic, from the 40's on, references to their collective tragedies became central to their respective national discourses. Here, both the Shoah as the Nakba come to constitute constant attempts to justify correctness and legitimacy of their political demands. In this article, we discuss the centrality of the two uses of the politics of Nakba and Shoah by Palestinians and Zionists in scenarios of ideological, national and territorial confrontation.
