Resumo Objetivo: Descrever a prevalência de indicadores de baixo peso e de obesidade entre os indivíduos registrados como povos e comunidades tradicionais no Sistema de Vigilância Alimentar e Nutricional, de todo o Brasil, em 2019. Métodos: Estudo descritivo, com dados individualizados secundários de participantes atendidos na Atenção Básica do Sistema Único de Saúde. Resultados: Na população estudada (N = 13.944), houve maior prevalência de altura baixa entre crianças e adolescentes do sexo masculino (14,2%), quando comparados aos do sexo feminino (11,8%); na população adulta do sexo feminino, observou-se maior prevalência de obesidade (23,0%), quando comparada à do sexo masculino (11,3%); destacou-se a prevalência de altura baixa para a idade nas comunidades ribeirinhas (18,5%), e de obesidade na população adulta faxinalense (75,1%). Conclusões: As heterogeneidades antropométricas entre as comunidades exigem respostas adaptadas, com ênfase na atenção primária à saúde e na garantia da segurança alimentar e nutricional.

Conclusion: Anthropometric disparities between different communities require tailored responses, emphasizing targeted primary health care and programs to ensure food and nutrition security.

Abstract: Technological advances in bathymetric equipment, positioning capacity, data processing, as well as the development of new ways of obtaining depth and other ways of exploring the submerged bottom, have been noticed in recent years. It is known that acoustic remote sensing is the most widely used technique for depth measurement. Survey systems can be embedded on various platforms and also provide different accuracies. Coupled to these systems are also Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), auxiliary sensors and speed profilers, improving the accuracy of the data obtained. Alternatively to the use of echo sounders, optical sensing (active and passive sensors) or satellite radar altimetry can be used to estimate depth. Thus, this study aims to present an overview of bathymetric survey methodologies, as well as the evolution of the use of sounding platforms, systems and sensors and various existing technologies. In addition, the main uncertainties involved and the advantages and disadvantages of the available solutions are also evidenced, providing the reader the ability to choose the most appropriate technique.

Abstract: The use of acoustic systems for mapping submerged areas is the most accurate way. However, echosounders are expensive and, in addition, the equipment requires a great deal of experience on the part of the specialist. From another perspective, orbital and aerial images (acquired by RPA’s- Remotely Piloted Aircraft) can offer bathymetric maps of larger locations that are difficult to access at a low operating cost. Therefore, the present study’s main objective was to evaluate the utility of RGB images obtained with RPA’s in water reservoirs. Thus, Artificial Neural Networks were used for depth training and prediction. Subsequently, it compared to the bathymetric data from the same pond in question, raised from acoustic sensors, quantifying the vertical uncertainty through three estimators. Regarding the statistical analysis, the RMSE and Ф estimators showed better reliability. The 300-point sample showed the best quality in processing. The results showed that the methodology could improve the management of water resources. The method allows reduced execution time and lowers cost, especially for using only the green, red and blue channels, easily found in most cameras coupled to RPA’s.

RESUMEN La sedimentación en las masas de agua es un problema mundial que perjudica su navegabilidad y utilización, y, en los reservorios, este proceso reduce su capacidad de almacenamiento parcial o total. Usando técnicas de levantamiento batimétrico de haz simple, este estudio evalúa el proceso de sedimentación en una sección de reservorio en la Universidad Federal de Viçosa (UFV), ubicada en Viçosa, Minas Gerais, en la región sureste de Brasil. Un análisis de las tablas que muestran los modelos de elevación digital (DEM) y el volumen acumulado x área de elevación x área de tres encuestas realizadas en 2010, 2012 y 2016 proporcionó las tasas de sedimentación entre estos años, así como el volumen acumulado de sedimentos en el área en análisis para cada año. La información que recopilamos muestra los sedimentos acumulados en la parte más profunda del reservorio en el período comprendido entre 2010 y 2012. Sin embargo, desde 2012 hasta 2016, el efecto de sedimentación se concentró en profundidades menores, mientras que el desecado se observó en las partes más profundas. Además, la tasa de sedimentación en el área analizada se relacionó con la precipitación total en el municipio durante el período de tiempo correspondiente, así como con los cambios en el uso de la tierra que se produjeron en los últimos años en toda la cuenca. Este dato indica un llamado a acciones de manejo para reducir la erosión del suelo en la cuenca, así como la necesidad de desecar los reservorios para recuperar su capacidad de almacenamiento.

ABSTRACT Sedimentation in bodies of water is a worldwide problem that impairs its navigability and utilization, and, in reservoirs, this process reduces their partial or total storage capacity. Using single-beam bathymetric survey techniques, this study evaluates the sedimentation process in a reservoir section at the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), located in Viçosa, Minas Gerais, in the Southeast region of Brazil. An analysis of the charts showing the DEM (Digital Elevation Models) and the Elevation x Surface Area x Accumulated Volume for three surveys conducted in 2010, 2012, and 2016 provided the sedimentation rates between these years, as well as the accumulated volume of sediments in the area under analysis for each year. The information we collected shows sediments accumulated in the deepest part of the reservoir in the period between 2010 and 2012. From 2012 to 2016, however, the sedimentation effect was concentrated in shallower depths, whereas the desilting was observed in the deepest parts. Moreover, the sedimentation rate in the analyzed area may be linked to the total precipitation in the municipality during the concerning time frame, as well as to changes in land use that occurred over the past years throughout the watershed. This data indicates a call for management actions to reduce soil erosion in the watershed, as well as a need for desilting of the reservoirs in order to recover its storage capacity.

ABSTRACT Objective: This study investigated the acute effects of high-intensity interval (HIIE) and moderate-intensity continuous (MICE) exercise on ghrelin levels in obese men. Subjects and methods: A total of 10 obese men (age 27.6 ± 1.8 years, body mass index 35.4 ± 4.5 kg/m², body fat 39.9 ± 2.1%) performed two exercise sessions in a randomized order: HIIE (10 × 1 min intervals at 90% of the maximal heart rate [HRmax] interspersed by 1 min of active recovery) and MICE (20 min at 70% of the HRmax). Ghrelin levels were assessed pre-, post- and 1h post-exercise, and energy intake was assessed 1h post-exercise through an ad libitum meal. Results: HIIE and MICE showed a trend to decrease ghrelin levels immediately post-exercise (-14.1 ± 21.6% and −9.6 ± 23.8%, respectively, p = 0.07) and decreased 1h post-exercise (-12.7 ± 31.8% and −13.8 ± 21.7%, respectively, p < 0.05). No changes were observed for post-exercise energy intake (p > 0.05). There was a positive correlation between the change in ghrelin levels and post-exercise energy intake only for HIIE (r = 0.63, p = 0.05). Conclusion: In summary, a single session of HIIE and MICE elicits a reduction on ghrelin levels without changing post-exercise energy intake in obese men.

Abstract: Due to waterway transport efficiency, mainly for commercial trades, the use of sea/river routes has grown recently. So, the importance of producing high quality nautical charts stands out. A nautical chart is the hydrographic survey final product and its accuracy depends on data quality collected, primarily of the vertical quality (depth). In this sense, despite the theoretical and practical difficulty in obtaining homologous points in hydrographic surveys, even when performing check lines, bathymetric data must always be delivered with a statistically proven confidence level. Thus, this study has two main objectives: i) to propose a method, called Point to Point (P2P), for obtaining “homologous points” for hydrographic surveys carried out with multibeam systems, without resorting to mathematical and/or statistical interpolations, called Point to Point (P2P); ii) to quantify the magnitude of the difference between the statistical evaluation using check lines (CL) and by overlapping successive sounding lines (SL), applying the P2P method. The results showed that P2P is easy to application, provide low computation effort, is robust and consistent. Besides that, was possible to applied successive regular lines to get a validation of the hydrographic survey.

RESUMO As cardiopatias congênitas (CC) estão entre as principais causas de morbimortalidade na primeira infância e os lactentes com essa condição podem apresentar atrasos no desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor (DNPM). O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a influência da CC no DNPM de lactentes. Trata-se de um estudo observacional com avaliação do desenvolvimento neuropsicomotor realizada pela Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development (BSID-III). As condições maternas e clínicas dos lactentes foram verificadas no relatório de alta médica e na caderneta de saúde da criança, e a condição socioeconômica das famílias pelo Critério da Classificação Econômica Brasil. Para associar as variáveis clínicas e o DNPM foram utilizados o coeficiente de correlação de Spearman e o teste de razão de verossimilhança. Foram avaliados 18 lactentes, com predomínio do sexo feminino (72,2%). A maioria das mães (47,1%) possuía ensino médio completo ou superior incompleto, com média da idade de 27,2±5,5 anos. Houve correlação das escalas do BSID-III com as variáveis quantitativas analisadas: escala motora com o peso (p=0,02 e r=0,54) e com uso de oxigenoterapia (p=0,009 e r=−0,591); já para as variáveis qualitativas as associações foram entre: escala motora e condição socioeconômica (p=0,015), escala motora e comunicação interatrial - (CIA) (p=0,023) e escala da linguagem e CIA (p=0,038). A CC influenciou o DNPM, principalmente no aspecto motor. Além disso peso, diagnóstico de CIA, uso de oxigenoterapia e condição socioeconômica foram considerados como principais fatores de risco para o atraso no DNPM.

ABSTRACT Congenital heart defects (CHD) are among the main causes of morbidity and mortality in infants who has this impairment may present delays in neuropsychomotor development (NPMD). This study assesses the influence of CHD on NPMD of infants. This is an observational study assessing neuropsychomotor development performed by Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development - BSID-III. The Brazilian Economic Classification Criteria was used to verify the socioeconomic status of the families and also the maternal and infants’ clinical conditions were verified in the medical discharge report and in the child’s health handbook. For the association between the quantitative and qualitative variables with the NPMD, the Spearman’s correlation coefficient and the likelihood ratio test were used. A total of 18 infants were assessed, with a predominance of females (72.2%). Most mothers (47.1%) had complete high school or incomplete higher education, with a mean age of 27.2±5.5 years. There was a correlation between the BSID-III scales and the quantitative variables analyzed: motor scale with weight (p=0.02 and r=0.54) and oxygen therapy (p=0.009 and r=−0.591); besides that, the qualitative variables correlation were: motor scale and socioeconomic condition (p=0.015), motor scale and Interatrial Communication - IAC (p=0.023) and language with IAC scales (p=0.038). CHD influences the delay of NPMD, mainly for motor aspect. Furthermore, weight, diagnosis of IAC, use of oxygen therapy and socioeconomic status were considered the main risk factors for the delay in NPMD.

RESUMEN Las cardiopatías congénitas (CC) se encuentran entre las principales causas de morbimortalidad en la primera infancia, y los lactantes con esta afección pueden tener retrasos en el desarrollo neuropsicomotor (DNPM). El presente estudio tuvo el objetivo de evaluar la influencia de las CC en el DNPM de los lactantes. Este es un estudio observacional en el cual se evaluó el desarrollo neuropsicomotor utilizando la Bayley scales of infant and toddler development (BSID-III). Las condiciones maternas y clínicas de los lactantes se obtuvieron en el informe de alta médica y en la libreta de salud del niño, y el estado socioeconómico de las familias en el Criterio de Clasificación Económica de Brasil. Para asociar las variables clínicas y el DNPM, se utilizaron el coeficiente de correlación de Spearman y la prueba de razón de probabilidad. Se evaluaron a 18 lactantes, con un predominio del sexo femenino (72,2%). La mayoría de las madres (47,1%) tenían la secundaria completa o la educación superior incompleta, con una edad promedio de 27,2±5,5 años. Hubo una correlación entre las escalas BSID-III y las variables cuantitativas analizadas: escala motora con el peso (p=0,02 y r=0,54) y con el uso de oxigenoterapia (p=0,009 y r=−0,591); para las variables cualitativas, las asociaciones fueron entre: escala motora y estado socioeconómico (p=0,015), escala motora y comunicación interauricular (CIA) (p=0,023) y escala de lenguaje y CIA (p=0,038). Las CC influyeron en el DNPM, principalmente en el aspecto motor. Además, el peso, el diagnóstico de CIA, el uso de oxigenoterapia y el estado socioeconómico fueron considerados los principales factores de riesgo para el retraso en el DNPM.

Abstract Currently, during the operation in shallow waters, scanning systems, such as multibeam systems, are capable of collecting thousands of points in a short time, promoting a greater coverage of the submerged bottom, with consequent increase in the detection capacity of objects. Although there has been an improvement in the accuracy of the depths collected, traditional processing, that is, manual, is still required. However, mainly due to the increased mass of data collected, manual processing has become extremely time-consuming and subjective, especially in the detection and elimination of spikes. Several algorithms are used to perform this task, but most of them are based on statistical assumptions hardly met and/or verified, such as spatial independence and normality. In this sense, the goal of this study is to present the SODA (Spatial Outlier Detection Algorithm) methodology, a new method for detection of spikes designed to treat bathymetric data collected through swath bathymetry systems. From computational simulation, promising results were obtained. SODA, in some cases, was capable to identify even 90% of spikes inserted on simulation, showing that the methodology is efficient and substantial to the bathymetric data treatment.

Abstract: The amount of data produced in an echosounder has increased dramatically with scanning systems such as multibeam echo sounders and interferometric sonars, providing a considerable improvement in the submerged terrain representation, especially when it comes to detecting hazardous objects to the navigator. However, the available processing algorithms did not come along with this evolution; manual processing or, at least, constant intervention is usually necessary, which makes this task arduous with a high degree of subjectivity. In addition, statistical inconsistencies do not appear to be uncommon in most of the algorithms and filters available. Thus, SODA (Spatial Outliers Detection Algorithm) was recently presented, being a methodology directed, at first, to echosounder data treatment. Considering this, this article aims to evaluate the SODA efficiency for real data treatment from a multibeam sonar. SODA, in some cases, was capable to identify up to 74% of spikes with the δ-Method, which means that this technique detected 28 out of the 38 confirmed spikes in the data set, reassuming the methodology strength regarding the search for spikes in echosounder data.

Resumo: A representação do relevo submerso é de essencial importância em diversas áreas do conhecimento como em projetos para construção ou reavaliação de dimensões portuárias, instalação de moles, dutos, marinas, pontes, túneis, prospecção mineral, cursos de água, dragagem, controle de sedimentos de rios e lagos e outros. As profundidades dos corpos aquáticos, indispensáveis para a representação destes, são obtidas através dos levantamentos batimétricos. No entanto, o produto resultante de uma batimetria é uma malha de pontos amostrais que, por si só, não é capaz de gerar diretamente o Modelo Digital de Profundidade (MDP), sendo necessário o uso de interpoladores. Até o momento existem mais de 40 métodos de interpolação disponíveis na literatura, cada um com suas particularidades e características. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar, comparativamente, a eficiência da Krigagem Universal (KU) e do Inverso Ponderado da Distância (IPD) na representação computacional de superfícies batimétricas, variando de forma decrescente a quantidade de pontos amostrais. Através dos resultados pode-se constatar a superioridade do interpolador Krigagem Universal quanto à eficiência em criar MDP com base nos dados de levantamentos batimétricos.

Abstract: The representation of the submerged relief is very importance in diverse areas of knowledge such as Projects to build or reassess port dimensions, installation of moles, ducts, marinas, bridges, tunnels, mineral prospecting, waterways, dredging, silting control of river and lakes, and others. The depths of the aquatic bodies, indispensable for the representation of those, are obtained through the bathymetric surveys. However, the result of a bathymetric sampling is a grid of points that, for itself, it is not capable of generating directly the Digital Model of Depth (DMD), being necessary the use of interpolators. Currently, there are more than 40 available scientific methods of interpolation, each one with its particularities and characteristics. This study has the objective to analise, comparing, the efficiency of Universal Kriging (UK) and of the Inverse Distance Weighted (IDW) in the computational representation of bathymetric surfaces, varying in a decreasing way the quantity of sample points. Through the results, we can be stated the superiority of the interpolator Universal Kriging in efficiency in creating DMD with basis in the bathymetric surveys data.

The performance of the feet interferes on the posture, walk and on the wear of shoes. Deformities may appear due to structural changes motivated by the muscular imbalance as it seems to happen on Hallux Valgus (HV). The adductor hallucis muscle is considered important at this imbalance. Analyze the role of the AHM on the dynamics of the hallux and the forefoot as well as in the genesis of the HV. Dissection of 28 isolated feet (3 with HV), preserved in formaldehyde acquired from the Anatomy Laboratory of Petrópolis School of Medicine to obtain the morphometry of the HAM: length of the oblique and transverse heads (L-TH; L-OH); width of the heads (W-TH; W-OH) and angle between the heads (q). Medium values (mm), obtained from the feet without the deformity L-TH= 27.04; W-TH=13.23; L-OH= 51,45; W-OH=17.58 ; q (TH/OH) =31, and the ones with HV: L-TH=23.80; W-TH=12.03; L-OH=48.25;W-OH=16.89; q (CT/CO)=52. The morphology of the AHM varies between the healthy and the feet with the HV. The AHM fixing on the metatarsal phalangeal joints and on the lateral sesamoid of the great toe may be the cause or the consequence of the q (CT/CO) variance that leads to the HV. The amputation of the great toe may flatten the anterior transverse arch, by muscular tension, hindering the functions of the foot such as support and walk.

El desempeño de los pies influye en la postura, marcha y en el uso de calzados. Deformidades pueden surgir debido a alteraciones estructurales provocadas por el desequilibrio muscular como parece suceder en el hallux valgus (HV). El Músculo aductor del hallux (MAH) es considerado importante en la presencia de ese desequilibrio. Analisamos la acción del MAH, en la dinámica del hallux y del antepie sano, así como en la génesis del HV. Se disecaron 28 pies aislados (3 com HV), fijados en formol, del Laboratorio de Anatomía de la Facultad de Medicina de Petrópolis/FASE/RJ para obtener los datos morfométricos del MAH: largo de las cabezas (L-CT; L-CO); ancho de las cabezas (A-CT; A-CO) y ángulo entre las cabezas (q). Los valores medios (mm), obtenidos en los pies sin deformidades: L-CT= 27,04; L-CO= 51,45; A-CT=13,23; A-CO=17,58; q (CT/CO)=31°; y en los con HV: L-CT=23,80; A-CT=12,03; L-CO=48,25; A-CO=16,89; q (CT/CO)=52. La morfología del MAH osciló entre pies sin y con HV. El MAH al fijarse en las articulaciones metatarsofalángicas (CT) y en el hueso sesamoideo lateral del hallux (CT+CO) puede ser causa o consecuencia de la variación del q (CT/CO), llevando al valgismo del hallux. La amputación del hallux podrá aplanar el arco transverso anterior debido a la tensión muscular, dificultando las funciones del pie en el apoyo y en la marcha.

A cajazeira (Spondias mombin L.) é uma frutífera nativa com expressivo potencial agroindustrial no Nordeste brasileiro, em razão das qualidades sensoriais dos seus frutos, sendo uma espécie com possibilidade de cultivos comerciais mais extensivos. Neste sentido, objetivou-se avaliar as características físicas e químicas de frutos de cajazeira visando o consumo in natura e agroindústria oriundos de plantas espontâneas localizadas nos municípios de Alagoa Grande, Alagoa Nova, Areia, Bananeiras, Borborema, Pilões e Serraria, localizados na Microrregião do Brejo Paraibano. Os tratamentos foram representados por sete municípios, nos quais foram selecionados 5 (cinco) plantas espontâneas (repetições) e em cada uma foram colhidos 30 (trinta) frutos maduros, totalizando 150 (cento e cinqüenta) frutos por município estudado avaliados em delineamento inteiramente casualizado. Os frutos foram avaliados quanto aos atributos externos e internos: massa, diâmetro transversal e comprimento das sementes, porcentagens de polpa, casca e semente, umidade (%), teor de sólidos solúveis e pH da polpa. Conclui-se que os frutos de cajá avaliados apresentam massa variável de 8,36 a 20,4 g, com teores de sólidos solúveis e pH dentro dos padrões mercadológicos e rendimento em polpa, aquém da exigência das indústrias de processamento.

Yellow mombin (Spondias mombin L.) is a native fruit species with expressive potential for food industry in North Eastern of Brazil, due to the sensorial quality of its fruit, being a species that should be used for more extensive commercial crops. In this way, this work aimed to evaluate the physical and chemical characteristics of yellow mombin fruits for consumption as fresh or processed fruit from natural plants from Alagoa Grande, Alagoa Nova, Areia, Bananeiras, Borborema, Pilões and Serraria counties, located at “Brejo” microregion of Paraiba State, Brazil. Treatments were represented by seven counties were 5 (five) natural plants were selected (repetitions) and 30 (thirty) mature fruits were harvested in each plant, raising 150 (a hundred and fifty) fruits evaluated in a completely randomized design. Fruits were evaluated in relation to external and internal attributes as: fruit mass, width and length of fruits and seeds, percentages of pulp, skin and seed, water (%), soluble solids, industrial index and pulp pH. It concludes that yellow mombin fruits evaluated have mass varying from 8.36 to 20.4 g, soluble solids and pH in agreement to the standard market parameter but pulp percentage below food industry exigency.
