Resumo No final da década de 1960 e início dos anos 1970, uma série de iniciativas culturais intentou fabricar, em Pernambuco, um movimento que buscava se aproximar do chamado tropicalismo, na esteira do que se produzia em outros espaços do país, através de ações diversas, especialmente protagonizadas pelos debates musicais. Nesse sentido, este artigo pretende analisar o esforço de fabricação a posteriori de uma dita Pernambucália, designação que tal iniciativa ganhou em Pernambuco por volta de 1973, bem como os manifestos culturais e as polêmicas anteriores, que ocuparam as páginas dos periódicos recifenses Diário de Pernambuco e Jornal do Commercio entre os anos de 1967 e 1968, envolvendo figuras como Ariano Suassuna, Celso Marconi e Jomard Muniz de Britto. As fontes utilizadas são hemerográficas e literárias, e sua metodologia se baseia principalmente na análise de discursos. O objetivo final é perceber em que medida essa fabricação discursiva promoveu um remodelamento do télos construído em torno da cultura nordestina e brasileira que ora era dominante na cidade do Recife, bem como de que forma essa buscava se associar a uma discussão que extravasava para outras regiões do Brasil.

Abstract In the late 1960s and early 1970s, a series of cultural initiatives attempted to fabricate a movement in Pernambuco that sought to approach the so-called tropicalism, in the wake of what was happening in other parts of the country, through various actions, by the musical debates. In this sense, this article intends to analyze the effort of a posteriori manufacture of a said Pernambucália, designation that such initiative has won in Pernambuco around 1973, as well as the cultural manifestos and the previous controversies that occupied the pages of the Recife’s newspapers Diário de Pernambuco and Jornal do Commercio between the years 1967 and 1968, involving figures such as Ariano Suassuna, Celso Marconi and Jomard Muniz de Britto. The sources used are news papers and literary, and its methodology is based, mainly, in the analysis of speeches. His final objective is to understand to what extent this discursive fabrication promoted a remodeling of the telos built around the Northeastern and Brazilian culture that was now dominant in the city of Recife, as well as in what form that sought to associate itself with a discussion that went beyond other regions of Brazil.
